đ¸ Orchid Care Guide â Keeping Your Orchid Thriving! đ¸
At Flowery, we want to ensure your orchids stay beautiful and healthy for as long as possible. Follow these expert care tips to keep your Orchid in its best condition!
đĄ Light: Indirect, Gentle Sunlight
- Place your orchid in moderate, indirect light (near an east or north-facing window is ideal).
- Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. If your orchid gets too little light, it may not bloom.
đ§ Water: Less Is More!
- Water every 7â14 days, depending on humidity. Always check the roots â they should be green, not dry.
- Use room temperature water in the morning for best absorption.
- Avoid overwatering â ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot. A well-draining orchid pot is key!
đĄď¸ Temperature & Humidity: Keep It Cozy
- Ideal temperatures:
- Day: 70°â90°F
- Night: 60°â70°F
- Orchids love humidity! Maintain around 50â70% humidity by using a humidity tray or light misting.
đą Fertilizing: Feed for Flowers
- Use an orchid-specific fertilizer 1â2 times per month (diluted to half strength).
- Reduce feeding in winter when the orchid is resting.
đź Blooming & Re-Blooming Tips
- After blooming, trim the flower spike just above the second node to encourage reblooming.
- If no new flowers appear, try moving your orchid to a slightly cooler spot (60°F at night) to trigger blooming.
đŤ Common Mistakes to Avoid
â Overwatering â The #1 cause of orchid problems! Always check root moisture before watering.
â Too much sun â Keep it bright but indirect.
â Neglecting airflow â Good air circulation helps prevent disease.
đ With the right care, your orchid can bloom for months and re-bloom year after year! If you have any questions, let Flowery know, and we'd love to help! đżâ¨
